The Diploma Supplement (DS) is a companion document to the official educational qualification awarded after a course of study at a university or in a higher education institution. The DS provides a description of the nature, level, context, content and status of the studies that were successfully completed by the student in a standardized format in 8 points, developed on the initiative of the European Commission, Council of Europe and UNESCO and is issued by the Institute in a widely spoken Language and given automatically and free.
The Diploma Supplement was introduced in the Italian university system by Ministerial Decree 509 of 1999, Article 11, paragraph 8, and maintained in force by Ministerial Decree No. 270 of 2004 in the same article and paragraph.
The Ministerial Decree of 28 December 2010 published in the Official Gazette No. 3 of 5 January 2011, the Minister replaces the term “certificate” used in Article. 11, paragraph 8, of the Ministerial Decree of November 3, 1999, n. 509, and subsequent modifications to it, and additional related subject, with the phrase “information report”.
ECTS European Credit Transfer System
ISSM “Claudio Monteverdi” in Cremona has adopted the ECTS Credit System. A credit corresponds at 25 hours of work by the student, included the hours of lessons. seminars, training and other formative activities, personal studying and training necessary to complete the formation in order to pass the examination or other forms of testing, further the realisation of other artistic, perfomative or formative activities. 60 ETCS credits are allocated for each year, 30% to Basic courses (theory), 50% to Core courses (performance practice) and remaining to other formative activities and final examination. The institute recognizes ECTS credits obtained in HEIs requested by the students.
ECTS credits in mobility
The Institute recognises all the credits earned by the outgoing student during the mobility period (certificated in the Transcript of Records) counting them towards the final degree. These credits will be descripted in the Diploma Supplement specifying the name of the HEI.
For incoming students a Transcript of Records will be provided with dates of beginning and end of period of mobility, specifying informations about the course units (title, code of Course Catalogue, duration, local grade and ECTS credits). The Erasmus coordinator will present it to the administrative assistant who will implement it with the conversion table of the grades ECTS, referring also to conversion table for national grading within EU Community and to its possible changing.
